Before This Year End

It’s been a very looooong time without posting anything in this page. Since I’ve never been updating my life things anywhere in the internet, (instead of some tumblr pictures, and couple of whatsapp status), (well, I’m not that anti-social right?), probably will write some more words just to fill this blog before this year end. Yasss, 3 more weeks before 2018! I think it’s a non-structural post, I just randomly put all stories and some thoughts that I can write at this year-end.

Oh, what did I do? I left this page on April. Yes, there were moments. Kindly forget some, and lost tons of details but this early year there was a little change in my life habit. I resigned from my office (been 2 years there) and move to another project which require me to move from place to place. I wasn’t totally leave Jogja as I expected when I first joined that project.  But yeah, this government-project thing makes me take lot of flights I’ve never thought it would be this much. So, it took 4 trips in 4-5 months to finish this program and I’m not gonna write the detail of what I was exactly doing. But let me make it short: First trip: Excitement à Second trip: woa, what I’m gonna do, almost 24 hours work every day à 3rd trip: drama drama dramaà 4th trip: finally, kind of happy ending. But yeah, thank you for the experience and the opportunity to explore new places in South Borneo. I think this project still needs more improvement, for the better goals.

So afterwards, I become unemployed again (?). but I feel blessed enjoying my free time while doing couple of things like: attending friend’s wedding (which become midlife’s routine I guess); finding new places to live, and designing it; learning how to drive a car (and I wish ‘kopling’ motorcycle too); hiking Semeru mountain (which my last summit was 4 years ago); being obsessed by some real criminal stories (found this site: www.parkaman.com); streaming movies and YouTube that I couldn’t help but wasting my time on it! It’s interesting to watch ton of youtubers I’ve just known, I knew some names but you know, when you open a page it brings you to another page and page and page and so on.

Well, the internet thing goes really crazy now. I realize that I spend most of my time to see what’s on my phone screen, or laptop. At the end of the day I kind of feel bad for scrolling through social media timeline that much. Why did I waste most of my precious time by seeing some clickbait news, celebrities life, friends achievement (just to make me feel more insecure, lol). But on the next day, still, I’ll repeat it again haha.

In line with this internet things, or technology, I’ll recommend you a great drama series called ‘Black Mirror’. Most of episodes just left me thrill. Each episode is a stand-alone story so no need to start from first episode to understand. The stories are mostly dark and illustrate modern-future day where technology drives human life and how it affects them. The serial has 3 seasons which consists 13 episodes. The 4th season will be aired this December (can’t wait!). I love almost every single episode, probably only 2 which I think has uninteresting story. It worries me how our future will be on the next 10 years maybe? Which one of this ‘black mirror’ technology will be real and also the horrifying side effect.

Let's say that I rely on google maps (despite of the other google features) for looking for places. I even registered as Local Guide. I remember life before google maps. Not so long time ago, I’m not good at memorizing routes. I did it because I get used to the route, so it took more than one trip to memorize the route. Now I got GPS on my hand every time I need it. I admit that google map helps me a lot. Let me hope I don’t lose my instinct of looking around the road without the help of technology. In other hand, I wonder why some people don’t optimize the use of their smartphone as if they have GPS but they don’t know how to use it. You know, like saving or plotting places and stuff. But I understand not all people see it as important thing.

And about Semeru, it was MAGICAL place though the rain never let us feel the warm sun more than an hour per day. The mist which always covered all over the area makes it became more mystical place. I did my summit and it was a hell but worth to see. I never see the famous ‘5cm’ movie before, but Mahameru is not easy place to hike with its slippery sand and unstable rock. Fortunately, it was rainy season so the sand we step on was solid enough and no need to use mask coz the air was clear from dust. Over all, Semeru track is quite easy except the Mahameru. A lot of amazing scenery from Ranu Pani until Kalimati camping ground, it is the combination of lake and sabana. Surprisingly I met a cat at Ranu Kumbolo, perhaps a mountain cat coz he looks so strong (?). The best of the best was the uncrowded situation, very few number of hikers (thanks to the bad weather). There were no more than 20 tents build at Ranu Kumbolo camping ground. Only 3-4 groups which took the summit with us. Here are some pictures:
